Touched by tragedy, love is an elusive dream never to be realised by eighteen-year-old Jax Grady–until he discovers his secret admirer and receives the sweetest gift he could ever desire.

Tragedy and horror shaped Jackson Grady’s life, leaving him orphaned and scarred. At eighteen he’s ready to claim his future, but who could love his disfigured face and damaged soul? Definitely not a big, burly, beautiful Irish Traveller who is entirely the stuff of dreams.

Dare Rowan didn’t mean to become obsessed with the blue-eyed man he first saw across a field, but that porcelain skin and innocent air demanded another meeting. Jax has the face of a wounded angel, and the rest of the young man is as heart-breakingly perfect. Jax is beautiful in every way and teaching him about love and life will be something Dare will embrace. Like unwrapping and savouring the candy at the shop where he works, Dare will show this young man everything Jax desired but never thought he’d have, and take Jax to new highs while he holds him through the lows. Between them, they’ll find out just how sweet life can be.

“Who’s there?” he called out. Jax hated the slight quaver in his voice, not wanting to appear defenceless to a potential burglar. “I can hear you, so no use hiding. Just tell me what you want here. Or get the fuck out of my home.”

He wouldn’t tip his hand, telling the burglar he had a weapon. Let the bastard find out for himself, he thought grimly. The scuffling noise stopped and now all Jax could hear was someone’s steady breathing.

Jax stood straight and tall, hoping he looked intimidating in the dim light, where no one could see he wasn’t superhero material.

A quiet voice echoed from the darkness. “I’m not here to rob you or hurt anyone. I hope I didn’t scare you.” The voice sounded familiar and Jax frowned, trying to place it.

“I’m not scared.” Jax gripped the poker tighter. “Who the hell are you and what are you doing here?” He let out the breath he hadn’t known he was holding and scowled, reaching down to fumble for the table lamp. He switched it on and the room flooded with warm light. Jax momentarily closed his eyes, trying to adjust to it. When he opened them, a large, blurred figure stood by the door to the hallway. It was half open and Jax guessed the man had been trying to make a clean break away from whatever he’d been doing in the house.

Jax stepped around the huddled blanket on the floor and made his way closer to the other man.

If he was going to hurt me, he’d have done it already.

“Are you going to tell me what the hell you’re doing in this house?” he demanded. Something propelled him forward; he didn’t feel nervous anymore, simply curious. As Jax got closer, he squinted at the stranger, trying to see him more clearly.

“I came to return something.” The other man’s even tone sent a shiver through Jax’s body. “Something that was taken from you that didn’t belong where it was.”

Now Jax was sure he knew the person behind the voice. It surely couldn’t be who he thought it was, could it?He moved, closing the distance until he could see more clearly. The sight that greeted his eyes took his breath away.

God, it is Dare from the mall. Crap, he’s one sexy beast. Even if he might be a serial killer.

Jax waved the poker at Dare. “What the fuck are you doing here?”

Dare huffed. “It’s a long story.” He eyed the poker dubiously. “Really, a poker? That’s your weapon of choice?”

Jax snorted. “I can clobber you with it if you try anything. Come on, dude. Tell me what the hell is going on. Are you that desperate to have coffee with me?”

Dare laughed, a little shakily. “‘Dude?’ You love that word. It’s pretty cute when you say it. And yes, I’m definitely partial to having coffee with you one way or another. But this wasn’t quite what I had planned.”

Jax blinked. His eyes felt gritty and sore and he had gunk bunging up one corner of his left eye. He reached up and rubbed it away softly. “How do you know I use the word ‘dude’ often?”

Dare gave a deep, indrawn breath. There was silence. Jax got the impression Dare had revealed something he wasn’t supposed to.

Jax grew impatient. “Are you going to tell me anything anytime soon? Because if not, I’ll call out for the owner of the house and he can call the cops, then we’ll get the story—”

“No, no police.” For the first time Dare sounded panicked. “God, you’re so damn feisty.”

Jax got the impression that wasn’t a problem for this man from his admiring tone. Jax’s groin warmed more. Now his dick was standing at half-mast and it was the last thing he needed if he did have to call on Randy.

I’m getting a hard-on for someone who broke into the house. Could shit get any weirder?

“So, what’s the story, Mr Dark and Sexy? Do you actually have one or are you just an opportunistic burglar making something up?”

The chuckle that emanated from Dare’s mouth was low, and yes, still damn sexy.

“Really? You think I’m dark and sexy?” Dare’s face twisted into a grin. “I’m flattered. You’re something yourself.”

Jax went on the offensive. “Do you always hit on people whose houses you break into? What are you, like, the Flirty Burglar or something?”

Really? This god of a man thinks I’m something? And honestly—the Flirty Burglar. Face palm.

Pet Peeves – what are yours ?

What are your pet peeves when you read a book ?  Pet Peeves are those little things that are personal to you, as a reader, that perhaps spoil a story for you. They have nothing to do with how well written how the book is, how defined the characters are or whether the plot line makes sense. It has nothing to do with the quality of the work produced, the creativity of the ideas or the overall pulling together of a tale that probably took a writer a long time to finish. It has nothing to do with the satisfaction of combining all of this to make a readable and enjoyable and entertaining story.

No. Pet peeves has everything to do with how  a reader  didn’t like a story because it irked you in some way that possibly to someone else wouldn’t even matter.  And we all do it, no matter how we try not to. It influences our feeling for a book, our emotional state in a negative way.

As a reader myself, I have a few of my own. I blogged about this recently on Sid Love’s site. You can read the article here. It was entitled Penises, Sex and Porn.

petermeterIt was the penis size thing that was my bugbear. The fact that I don’t need to read a book to find out the guy had a six, eight or ten inch dick when he was doing someone, or putting it where it mattered. The numbers are a little distracting.

Another thing I dislike is cliff hangers. I’m an impatient git. I don’t really want to be left Cliffhangerhanging at the end of a story with a real cliff hanger that leaves me wondering whether the men in love are going to make it or not. I like my HEA (Happy ever after) or HFN (Happy for now) endings. I have no issue with a theme being continued into another book, one that didn’t affect their ending, hell, I’ve done this myself. But I need to be secure in the knowledge that when I finally close that book, the two main protagonists are together.

And yes, when it comes to my M/M romances, I am a definite purist. The sex action should be between men and have no het sex in it whatsoever. That’s just the way I like my stories. I read M/M for a reason -because I find sex between two men hot, lusty and real – and I’m not fond of having a vagina pop up when I’m still thinking about cocks and arses.

a5ea8080429858e2cb67a98ff7dbcad5Some of the pet peeves I’ve seen written by readers about my books are that they dislike pet names being used. In Stripped Bare,  some people took real exception to Matthew and Shane being called Matty and Shay. They thought it was childish and spoilt the story for them. Another reader didn’t like the German translations I’d provided for some of the things ‘Matty’ said although they had been translated by a German speaker specially for me. It turned out there were a number of different ways to say what I had and this person didn’t like my version. In Saving Alexander, some readers didn’t like the fact that Alex was having it off with another man while seeing Sage, although this was basically the whole premise of the book.

While pet peeves are valid though, a reader should take care not to let them unduly influence their perception of the book. They have their merits but these personal dislikes should not detract from the overall review of the book based on the things I mention in the opening paragraph. One needs to give the author their dues when considering the book as a whole and not nitpick on the little things that simply gave you, the reader, cause for dislike.

Simply consider this when writing a review of any kind for a story you’ve read and while always worth mentioning, try not to let it get in the way of the author’s craft and your overall assessment of their story.

On a completely different subject – here’s an interesting man indeed. I’m participating in a bog hop which necessitates me hiding this man’s name somewhere in a previous post. So here goes and perhaps you’ll be enlightened at the same time 🙂

Explicit Excerpt

“Hands and knees, boy.”
I obeyed him, doing my best to move smoothly and gracefully, just like he’d taught me. I tensed when his hand spread my cheeks and he pushed a couple of slick fingers into me. I squirmed as his fingers scissored inside me, stretching me. When Ben pulled his fingers free, I stifled my noises of disappointment. Ben held up something for me to see. It was a slim butt plug in black silicone. I swallowed.
I tried to relax as he pushed it slowly into me. “God, it feels so big.”
Ben chuckled. “This is nothing, wait until it’s my cock.” And didn’t that thought send a ripple through me. At last I felt the flat base of the plug and knew it was all the way in.
“Stand up.”
I got to my feet, the movement pushing the plug against my prostate. Oh, hell. I couldn’t see me lasting long without coming—until I saw what Ben held in his hand. It was a cage of some sort, its shape mimicking a dick. I gasped as Ben pushed a metal ring over my cock and eased my balls through it carefully. The ring had a catch where it rested on top of my dick. Then he slid a lubed hand over my length. I shuddered to finally feel his hand on me, but it was short-lived as he proceeded to slide the cage very slowly over my cock, until at last it snapped into position on the cock ring.
Ben grinned. “Subs who behave the way you did have to expect punishment.”
I gulped. All in all, I thought I’d got off lightly, except Ben wasn’t finished.
“On your knees.”
I obeyed him, conscious of the plug in my ass and the weight of the cage around my cock. I wondered what was coming next, and my mouth fell open when Ben unzipped his fly and pushed his jeans down over his hips. Ben cupped my chin and lifted my face to look at him.
“Suck my cock, boy. And make it good.”
Oh… oh, wow.

God, I was hard.
Scott knelt before me. Smiling up at me, he pulled my underwear down slowly, releasing the solid cock hidden inside. It sprang up, heavy and thick, bouncing in his face. Scott’s eyes moved to mine. I nodded toward my cock.
“Sir? May I?” Scott lowered his eyes reverently. I placed my hands atop Scott’s head.
“Do it, boy,” I whispered. Scott reached for the thick shaft in front of him. “No hands.” My voice was thick and husky.
Scott nuzzled my balls before licking from the base to the head of my engorged prick.
I couldn’t suppress a shudder. Scott chuckled, and I gave my boy a quick cuff on the side of his head. Grabbing Scott’s head, I pushed him down, the warm lips engulfing my prick. I moaned, the sensation of the boy’s mouth nearly overwhelming. I let him suck at his own pace for a few moments before I locked my hands around Scott’s head and started thrusting into his mouth. All too soon, my balls began to pull up.
“You’re doing so well. Going to come, boy.”
Scott tried to back off as I shot, but my grip held him tight. I emptied my load into his waiting mouth. When I was done, I gave the simple one-word command.
I smiled as Scott gulped my load, his throat working on the head of my dick, causing tremors to rock my body. After I’d finished, I released him. He leaned back and looked me in the eye, smiling, a part of my come running slowly down his chin. I wiped it off with my thumb and started drawing away, but he grabbed my hand and popped my thumb into his mouth. He released it, and his eyes dropped to the floor.
“Thank you, Sir.”
I couldn’t help the wide smile on my face. Now to deliver the bad news.
“Now you’re going to bed. And the plug and cage stay there for the night.”
I watched his eyes widen as realization sunk in. Now he got it.

SLOW BURN Blog Tour with Sam B. Morgan

Slow Burn

Slow Burn is an M/M Contemporary Romance

Detective Douglas Brody has only ever known the life of a cop. Raised strict but fair by his police chief father, he joined the academy right out of school, climbed the ranks hard and fast, and now works homicide for the City of Charleston. The job is his entire life. For years it’s kept him happy enough to minimize the side of him that craves what he believes is wrong. When an accident on the job puts him temporarily off duty, everything in Brody’s world changes. He has to prove himself once more to be best cop in the department, all while dealing with Zack – his persistent, sexy, and out of the closet physical therapist.

Zack is big grins, floppy hair and tackles his job with the same full-blown enthusiasm he does everything else. When the “patient from hell” is thrown his way by another PT who can’t handle him, Zack is committed to achieving the impossible. His new patient is a head strong and hot as hell homicide detective, who oozes as much resentment as he does sex appeal. Any involvement with a patient, never mind a man who is so deep in the closet he can’t see light, is something Zack swore he’d never do again.

But Brody slowly proves too much to resist…

All about Sam B. Morgan

Sam B. Morgan writes contemporary gay romance with complex, complicated men. A love of travel means settings from small town South Carolina to Sydney, Australia serve not only as backdrops, but supporting characters in each and every book. Sam enjoys fast cars, slow Sunday mornings, hot coffee, and even hotter heroes.

He could work out a resting heart rate from this, listening to the strong thumps, quickly glancing down at his watch. Decent. Resting below sixty. Brody was fit. A lot more fit than he gave himself credit for. The muscles in his chest were defined, and that didn’t come from police work. He had to work out regularly.

The meat of Zack’s hand rested on his broad chest, fingers moving on the swell of his pectorals as they rose and fell with each breath. The stir in his shorts brought him back front and center to the fact that this wasn’t the best idea. Leaning over his very attractive and touch-phobic patient. Even if all he intended to do was see if the man could lighten up. Maybe even laugh.

He wasn’t laughing now. When Zack lifted his eyes to Brody’s, he was hit with the full intensity of stormy gray. Not filled with amusement anymore but with something else.

It sent heat down Zack’s spine and into his shoes. He wasn’t even listening to the beats, just frozen in place with the buds in his ears, fingers still pressed to Brody’s chest as they stared at each other. The humor of the moment fell away as Brody continued to stare, arms still folded behind his head, mouth set into a straight line.

Zack straightened a tad too sharply and tucked the scope around his neck. Pulling his face into a rehearsed, easy smile, he hid the heat thrumming in his veins. “Yeah. You’ll live.” He started backing toward the door and gave a lame salute that made him want to cringe. God he was such a spaz. “I…I’ll see you next week.”

He rushed to exit stage left, narrowly missing the doorframe on the way out.

Zack could be downright pushy when he went into healthcare-professional mode. Brody wasn’t used to being told what to do. The small voice inside him that rejoiced in response was the one he hated most. He clenched his eyes shut and relaxed his leg.

“Good,” Zack said, his voice low as he focused.

He scooted himself up, knelt down, and hooked Brody’s knee over his arm, placing one hand at the back of his thigh, the other on the front. Brody tensed everywhere. He didn’t mean to, he probably shouldn’t, but he couldn’t help it.

“Relax. Hey,” Zack said and didn’t say another word until Brody opened his eyes and met Zack’s gaze. “Relax. The cramp comes right back if you’re tense. Trust me.”

Brody nodded again because it was all he could manage. It wasn’t that he didn’t trust Zack. Oddly enough, he did. But he didn’t trust himself. He didn’t like being in someone else’s hands—yet he did. He wasn’t comfortable with the vulnerability, but he was. And the position he was in was more than a tad suggestive. Except, of course, to someone like Zack. Zack, who only saw physiology, muscles, and ice packs. Cramps instead of sexual tension. Charlie horses instead of thighs.

“Good,” Zack repeated as Brody relaxed.

Brody focused on the trees to his left and tried not to think about the man between his legs or the hands all over him. It made him wonder about the next time he could get out of town.

“Is this helping?” Zack asked.

“Huh? Oh…yeah. Thanks,” Brody answered without looking at him.

Zack didn’t say anything. Didn’t move. Didn’t seem to breathe.

Brody knew it was his way of making Brody either talk or look at him or pay attention. Drove him fucking nuts, but it worked. Brody turned his head to glare at Zack like a pissed-off delinquent, but when his eyes found Zack, Zack wasn’t looking back.

Zack’s gaze was somewhere below Brody’s waist, dragging along one thigh, then the other. His attention lingered there, and Brody felt it all the way through his skin. It wasn’t professional Zack checking out his alignment either. Far from.

Something different, something hungry flashed in the deep brown of Zack’s eyes. Brody felt a lick of pure heat drag up his spine and back down. Straight to his groin. He didn’t know what he did to make Zack meet his eyes. He didn’t flinch or gasp or do anything besides remain frozen in place. Still, Zack looked at him, his eyes weaving a tale that had nothing to do with physical therapy.

Grasping fingers, slick skin, entwined bodies, and the kind of intensity that hurt so good you’d want it again and again. It sparked between them and hung in the air, thicker than the midsummer humidity. Brody recognized the same lust that continued to torture him right there in Zack’s eyes.

Tour Schedule

Let me say first that I love this cover. Sexy and oh so tempting. And then of course there’s the story about the uptight, repressed but oh so damn sexy cop and his uber tempting Physical Therapist . I mean this is a match made in heaven.
Detective Douglas Brody is a tough and rough cop, comfortable in the only life he’s ever known. He’s in the closet, determined to make in the Homicide Department in Charleston. But when he injures his knee running after a suspect, he need some tender loving care. Enter the TLC in the form of out and proud Zack. He may be all relaxed, with floppy hair and a grin Brody wants to kiss off his face, but he’s one strong, determined, ‘take no BS’ man and it takes all Brody’s strength to resist the immediate physical reaction the other man stirs in him. Not to mention the fact what he begins to feel in his heart for the irreverent, warm and funny Zack.
This was such a heart warming and beautiful story. The way that Zack gets under Brody’s skin, and keeps trying no matter what, is testament to Zack’s persistence, and his caring nature. Brody is falling hard and no matter how much he fights it, he knows he’s going to fall. Hard. I loved Brody’s description of Zack as a moose, with his long legs, floppy hair, all limbs and body. That was really sweet and endearing and I chuckled every time I heard the word.
Zack is wary of Brody. He’s been someone’s secret before and there is no way he wants that to happen again. But he is smitten with the handsome cop, the loving man that he knows resides inside Brody’s prickly exterior. The give and take between the two is emotionally satisfying, hot as all hell and has some memorable sexy moments. I really felt for Zack when he got a call from his father, from whom he’s been estranged. The poor man’s heart was breaking after that conversation and the tender scene afterwards when Brody comes to get him…just heart warming.
And of course running through the story is Brody’s hunt for the killer that’s terrorising his city. Brody is a great detective and he has a mission to catch the man they call the Strangler. This introduces an interesting and entertaining sub plot into this story.
So this is definitely high on my ‘Must read’ list and in fact I’ll be heading over to see what else Sam B Morgan has written. Buy it, read it, savour it -enjoy it.

WICKED WARRIORS INDEED.. don’t we all just love them?

I’m sure we’re going to see all kinds of deliciously decadent and wicked warriors on this blog hop. Vampires, Werewolves, Devils, Angels, supernatural beings that tantalise our senses, drain our bodies of emotions and make our loins flutter in sheer, heavenly pleasure….so why should I be any different?

I’ve got a two book supernatural series in the works called ‘Double Alchemy’. It’s about Warlocks, Water Sprites, Witches and dastardly villains intent on destroying our hero and a lot of others in the process. It’s also sexy man on man romance, filled with conflict, magyck and plenty of hot action, both in and out of the bedroom. This is a little bit about it….

Quinn Fairmont is a warlock, a remnant from an ancient family just trying to forget about it and live in the 21st century. But he’s not averse to using a little warlock magyck when it suits him. Inside him dwells his Withinner, an alter ego called Taliesen, his dark, magyck side. Cade Mairston is an anthropologist, passionate about his work and career. Their attraction to each other is sparked from their first chance meeting. As things heat up between them, they form an uneasy alliance to fight off the evil that threatens to harm them and at the same time come to terms with each other in a way they would never have envisaged.

Oh yes. Quinn is a Warrior indeed – ruthless, single minded, tough, dangerous and not just to Cade’s senses and sanity. Quinn is a man on a mission, with a terrible responsibility to a whole race, let alone his partner. Being a Warlock, Quinn has to do things that are not particularly socially acceptable in the real world. He has death on his hands. But he’s also loyal, fiercely protective and fair and will go to the ends of the earth to keep Cade and his friends safe from harm. And of course, Quinn’s dark alter ego, Taliesin, a sixth century Welsh Bard and Sorcerer, is a force to be reckoned with too. Dark and brooding, imbued with a power even beyond Quinn’s, Taliesin is the very definition of a mighty warrior.

The character of Quinn takes inspiration from the sexy and tough looking Daniel Craig. I confess, I love him as James Bond and next to Sean Connery, he’s been the best one yet in my opinion.

The Big Cocks and Broomsticks Giveaway Blog Hop – and all about HOPE

Here’s the link to follow for the blog hop and to find the other bloggers –

I once wrote a blog post about the research writers do for their books. You can read it here –

I am forever intrigued by the subjects tackled in other author’s books. I’ve read some incredibly fascinating ones lately. Take ‘Omorphi’ by the charming and glitter bedazzled Cody Kennedy (he apparently needs need regular Vitamin G injections lol). Cody’s book tackles the subject of extremely disturbing child abuse and I can’t imagine the research he had to do to write such a thoughtful, sympathetic and heart wrenching story. It’s tasteful, emotional, beautifully written and the character of Christy is simply breath taking.

Then I had the pleasure of reading Disasterology 101 by Taylor V. Donovan. Her book tackles the subject of OCD and germophobia with tenderness, empathy and the emotions of two men who find each other at the most bewildering times of their lives.

Then there was the wonderful ‘Junk’ by Josephine Myles. This was the story of a man who couldn’t stopped hoarding ‘stuff’ and who lived in chaos – organised chaos by his standards – until he found someone who could help him tendencies to collect anything he thought he needed and support him as he came to terms with his situation.

So these are all fascinating studies of the human psyche, the human ability to adjust, adapt and heal from circumstances that some of us may find untenable. They are glorious missives of just how someone else’s love, affection and support can heal and make people feel worthy of their attention. These books show men being patient, kind, understanding and most of all, offering hope to those who feel that perhaps that they are not worth saving.

And stories like these are hard to find in today’s world and we need more of them. I say well done to each one of these author’s for tacking subjects that may be controversial and difficult to write about. I enjoyed each one of them and in reading each one, I took something warm and fuzzy away with me – the faith that human nature CAN offer solace and hope in days when despair is all too prevalent.

I’ve written my own books on the subject of hope – ‘ Saving Alexander’ and ‘Worth Keeping’ and you can find out more about them here on my Pinterest boards –

And most of all – thanks for stopping by, participating and making contact. This is what Martha Beck had to say about human contact –

Basic human contact – the meeting of eyes, the exchanging of words – is to the psyche what oxygen is to the brain. If you’re feeling abandoned by the world, interact with anyone you can.
